Deputy Prime Minister Etienne Schneider and Minister of Finance Pierre Gramegna visit London and Bristol, 25-27 July 2016

During their working visit to London and Bristol from 25 to 27 July, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Etienne Schneider and Minister for Finance Pierre Gramegna and their delegation visited Level 39, where they meet with several start-up companies. Both ministers addressed participants from almost 40 British companies at a seminar entitled "Luxembourg ICT solutions for your business" organised by Luxembourg's ICT Cluster at the Embassy and delivered several interviews to different media outlets based in London. 

On the second day, Deputy Prime Minister Schneider travelled to Bristol to visit the National Composit Center (NCC) where a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) to establish greater scientific cooperation. In addition, he met with high-level representatives from the Confederation of British Industry together with Nicolas Buck, the President of Business Federation Luxembourg ( FEDIL ).

Finance Minister Gramegna also had a meeting with the Rt Hon. David Gauke, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, to discuss the political and economic consequences of the referendum and bilateral relations. He held further discussions with representatives from the City of London Corporation to look at the implications of Brexit for London's financial sector and the potential role for Luxembourg's financial hub and Luxembourg’s cooperation with the City of London. Minister Gramegna also met with officials from various banking institutions.
