Jean Muller at Codogan Hall on 27 October 2014

Published Tuesday October 28 2014

The Luxembourg pianist Jean Muller played Liszt’s Transcendental Studies at Cadogan Hall on Monday, 27 October 2014. He is an outstanding musician who plays with passion and authenticity, an exceptional evening for the artist’s last concert in London of his world tour. The Luxembourg Ambassador and Mrs Christine Engelberg received the guests as well as the artist and members of his family for a late supper at the Residence.

Jean Muller also played live at BBC Radio 3 on 14 October. Prior to his London concert, he was touring in South America with concerts in Toluca, Chihuaua and Santo Domingo (9 to 24 October 2014). The tour was organised by the Cultural Ministry and Mission Culturelle in France in collaboration with the Alliances Françaises.

A few reviews:

From the start this was everything you’d expect from a Liszt recital. Simply staggering. Jean Muller imbued it all with his very special brand of magic. Needless to say, it was an immense privilege to watch and hear him perform the incredulously virtuosic Transcendental Études. Martin Slidel , What's on London

It was a joy to be at this concert and to hear these magnificent piano works played so wonderfully. Thank you for your interpretation and your generosity in sharing it with us all. Also loved the encore and your mischievous sense of humour!, Jane Price
