Call for Applications for the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra’s July 2017 session
The rehearsal session and concert tour of the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra (EUYWO) will take place from the 8th to 26th of July, 2017, in Luxembourg and The Netherlands under the direction of Jan Cober and in collaboration with the World Music Championship Kerkrade (WMC). It is generously supported by the Luxembourgish Ministry of Culture, the City of Luxembourg, the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg and the Erasmus+ / Youth in Action program of the European Union and by the WMC.
After a rehearsal session and concert in Luxembourg, the orchestra will be from July 13 in Kerkrade as orchestra in residence and accompany, among others, an international conductor course and the international competition for young conductors as well as participate in the project “Future generations” where youth wind orchestras from different continents will perform concerts in Kerkrade, Utrecht and The Netherlands.
70 young musicians from all over Europe are sought for the 2017 tour. Young highly-qualified musicians (music students, laureates of youth music competitions, professional musicians, etc.), that:
- are 15 to 30 years old;
- play a wind instrument, percussion or double bass/harp/piano;
- live in an EU member state or other European country.
