Lecture by Eddie Bohnert "Luxembourg – The Renaissance Town as featured in The Cities of the World by Georg Braun and Franz Hogenberg"

Published Tuesday March 29 2016

Drawing on a wealth of historical and visual material, this lecture tells the story of the rebuilding of Luxembourg City as a Renaissance town in the 16th century, after it had been destroyed by war, fire, and the catastrophic gunpowder explosion of 1554.
Two separate maps were included in the magnificent ‘Civitates Orbis Terrarum', the first atlas of town plans.

Thursday 21st April 2016, 6.15 for 6.30pm, at Luxembourg House, 27 Wilton Crescent, London SW1X 8SD
